Compensation: Propose hourly rate (Total contract may not exceed
$25,000.)
Location: Austin, TX
Description/Duties: The selected technical writer will
collaborate with TEA staff on writing and editing content for the evaluation of
the impact of the Texas Student Success Initiative (SSI). The technical writer
is expected to conduct a review of the relevant literature and legislation
related to the initiative, draft an initial write-up related to the initiative
and incorporates edits based on working collaboratively with TEA staff on the
written report. The technical writer will follow all requirements related to
American Psychological Association (APA) writing standards. The technical writer
will perform necessary tasks to ensure the report complies with Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements prior to posting to the TEA Evaluation web
page.
Requirements: Eligible proposers are individuals who can
provide evidence of training and experience in technical writing, particularly
in the area of educational research. Proposers are required to have graduation
from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field (such as
technical writing, editing, education research, journalism, or communications).
Proposers must also have a minimum of four years experience in technical
writing, editing, education research, journalism, or other experience directly
related to the job assignment.
Preference: A graduate degree in a field directly related to
the assignment
