Description: We have an immediate opening for an experienced technical writer who will develop and enhance product documentation that enables our customers to effectively use NetQoS network monitoring and analysis products. Duties:

  • Produce white papers, online help systems, and User and Administration Guides for network monitoring and analysis software.
  • Identify information needs of different types of users and develop documentation plans to meet those needs.
  • Perform research and undergo training to develop an understanding of NetQoS products and effectively communicate product concepts, tasks, and best practices to our customers.
  • Interview subject matter experts for relevant technical information.
  • Be a self-starter who is assertive about creating and owning documents.
  • Write easy-to-follow procedures and concise conceptual information.
  • Set and meet deadlines within the timeline of the relevant software development cycle.
  • Work as a member of both a technical writing and software development team and understand the software development lifecycle and other team techniques.
  • Follow established style guidelines and use corporate templates for all documentation development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (EE or CS Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • 7+ years applicable technical writing experience
  • Strong foundation in grammar, style, and form
  • Expertise, attention to detail, and professionalism
  • Working knowledge of FrameMaker and RoboHelp
  • Familiarity with Word, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint and various graphics packages
  • Persistence, inquisitiveness, and the ability to work well on a team and independently
  • Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to rapidly understand new technology and effectively interface with engineers
  • Experience in initiating and finding better ways of developing documentation projects
